This week I’ve been working on a fundraiser for our kid’s high school athletic programs. It’s amazing how many people you meet when you volunteer for something like this. I’m now in association with local business owners, media leaders, coaches and a ton of parents. I volunteered because I wanted to help with my kids sports activities, but I coaching them is way out of my league.

So I’m serving as an organizer, which is something I do every day. Organizing is a kind of leadership that I enjoy and see good results. How does this connect with the LeadershipOnRamp?

Real simple. Leaders lead by example. We look for leaders who will use their strengths to serve others for the sake of the Gospel. We mobilize More Leaders for More Places who lead by example. When we evaluate leadership strengths we also evaluate their serve. When we create a development plan together it’s heavily tilted toward On-the-Job Training.
